Lord, I just want to be in your Presence this morning. Whether I look out the window and see bare, brown tree branches, or lush green leaves on the trees, you are the same, always. You never change. The weather doesn’t change you. Circumstances do not affect you.
“For I am the Lord , I change not; . . .” Malachi 3:6
I love you this morning, Lord. I don’t want circumstances or the weather or anything else to change my feelings about you, or let anything come into my life that would change my relationship with you.
“Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? . . .” Romans 8:35
My thoughts rise up from my heart as prayers to you, O Lord. It doesn’t have to be my audible voice. Sometimes I might just talk silently to you. That’s ok.
“God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.” John 4:24
I just want to spend some time in your Presence before I start my day.
“My voice shalt thou hear in the morning, O Lord; in the morning will I direct my prayer unto thee, and will look up.” Psalm 5:3
Meet God Before the Dawn
by Irene Smith
In the early morning hours,
When I wake before the dawn,
When the earth is full of darkness,
And the world is sleeping on,
Jesus meets with me so sweetly,
His soft voice I then can hear,
And He whispers, “Child, I love you!”
As His Presence draws so near.
It is hard to hear Him whisper
In the busyness of day;
So I wake up in the morning,
And with Him I slip away.
“Draw nigh to God,
and he will draw nigh to you.”
James 4:8
