Isn’t it amazing in our walk with God, how feelings can fluctuate from low to high and back again, depending on circumstances, the weather, what we had to eat, or any number of other happenings in life.
“For he knoweth our frame; he remembereth that we are dust.” Psalm 103:14
We can go from having a good morning, to feeling tired or discouraged. Sometimes we can be down and something happens that lifts our spirit, and we end up having a good day!
I thank God for the times when I feel good and encouraged, but I’m glad He is teaching me to trust Him when I’m not feeling so perky and blessed. It used to be when I felt down I would stay there for a long while.
God is helping me to realize that if I am living for Him, walking in the light He gives me, and I haven’t sinned, I am just as saved when I feel bad as when I feel good.
So I choose to trust God no matter how I feel! I choose to keep walking with Him whether I feel good or not! How about you? It’s the best choice we can ever make!
“For we walk by faith, not by sight:” 2 Corinthians 5:7
Feelings vs. Fact
by Irene Smith
We must never live by feelings; Feelings come and feelings go.
For our feelings are just feelings, They’re not really facts, you know.
Though we may feel sad and lonely We must keep our head up high;
For we know if we are faithful, We’ll feel better by and by.
So let’s keep our eyes on Jesus And believe in what is true;
For the fact is, God is faithful And we know He’ll see us through.
